Packing services in Croydon
Packing to whatever depth you actually want, which for most households is not all of it. Books and clothes are well within most people's patience. The kitchen is where that patience runs out. Both of those can be true, and the service is built around them.
On a tower move packing matters more than usual, because everything has to survive a corridor and a lift rather than a straight walk to the kerb.
Three depths, pick one
Why a block move needs better packing
On a house move a carton travels from a room to a van across a few metres of level ground. On a tower move the same carton goes along a corridor, into a lift, down fifteen floors, out through a lobby and across a bay.
That is more handling and more opportunity for a badly made box to fail. So on a block move we would particularly recommend letting us do the fragile categories, and we pack to smaller, heavier-walled cartons than a house move needs.
The kitchen, everywhere
Dense, heavy, fragile and slow, and the room people leave until last when they are already tired. That combination is why kitchens break.
Packed properly, glass and crockery are wrapped individually, stood on edge rather than stacked flat, and put into smaller cartons than instinct suggests. Packed at eleven at night into a box that is already too big, none of that happens.
If you are packing yourself
Use more paper than feels reasonable. Under-filled boxes crush under the ones stacked on them, and that causes more damage than dropping.
Keep the weight sane: books in small cartons, duvets in large ones. Getting it backwards produces a box nobody can lift and a box that collapses.
Label the side rather than the top, because once cartons are stacked you cannot read the tops. Write the destination room, not the contents.
Tape the bottom of every carton properly. One strip down the seam is not enough for crockery.
Get materials early
The biggest favour you can do yourself is to have the materials well ahead rather than the weekend before. Given a few weeks, packing is a calm job. Compressed into a long weekend it becomes a scramble, and scrambles break things. We deliver ahead and collect what you have not used.

Questions about packing
- 01
How long does packing take?
It depends on the property and how much you want done. The survey settles the scope and the written quote names who is packing what.
- 02
Do I need to be there?
Better at the start, to point out anything that should not be packed or needs special care. Most people then go out and let the crew work.
- 03
What should I not pack?
Passports, medication, chargers, keys, jewellery and anything you would hate to lose sight of. Keep those with you in a bag that never goes on the van.
- 04
Can you unpack too?
Yes, and take the empty cartons and paper away with us.
- 05
Are boxes included?
That depends which depth you choose, and the written quote sets it out line by line.
